Beach Photoshoots for Dogs at Pevensey Bay, East Sussex

There’s something special about capturing dogs doing what they love, running, playing and having fun. Beach photoshoots are a really great opportunity to capture your dog being themself in a way that not many other locations allow. The vast space for your dog to explore combined with the beautiful contrasting colours between the sand, sea and sky creates the perfect backdrop for capturing the authentic moments full of personality. 

In contrast to woodland sessions which are more focused on the still, quiet moments, beach photoshoots thrive on movement, play and fun filled moments rather than posed. 

Liv Cottingham Photography’s beach photoshoots take place in the evening, around 1 to 2 hours before sunset during ‘golden hour’ to catch the beautiful soft, warm light. These quieter times mean fewer people on the beach, helping your dog feel more relaxed and reducing distractions. We also aim for low tide to allow for maximal beach and sand space, giving your dog the space to feel free. 

What to Expect During a Dog Photography Session at Pevensey Bay, East Sussex

The goal isn’t to have your dog sit perfectly still. Instead, the session is designed to encourage play, fun and exploring. You’ll spend quality time together, walking along the beach, playing with a ball/toy and in the sea if your dog enjoys the water, whilst I capture the fun. This is also the perfect opportunity to create family memories, I always recommend having at least one photo of you with your dog – whether it’s the quiet moments that often go unnoticed, the fun you have playing together or a posed portrait. These are the memories you will cherish in years to come.
